FOURTH ANNUAL AUTHORS IN KIND LUNCHEON

Responding to an invitation from Master of Ceremonies, Linda Fairstein, mystery author, former prosecutor, legal expert, and board member of God's Love We Deliver, writers Ina Garten, much-loved author of the cookbook and host of her popular television show by the same name, "The Barefoot Contessa"; Frank Rich, the globally-read New York Times op-ed columnist, theater and film critic, and author of "The Greatest Story Ever Sold"; and the warm and wonderful Lisa Scottoline, former trial lawyer, university professor and Edgar Award-winning author of "Bad Blood" and 14 other legal thrillers, joined more than 300 guests on April 17th at the Rainbow Room for our annual literary luncheon. The event raised funds for individually tailored meals and nutritional counseling for thousands of clients served by God's Love We Deliver. Much to the delight of the guests, the authors mingled with the crowd and then signed copies of their' latest books.

All of the authors emphasized their heartfelt admiration for God's Love We Deliver. Sharing his personal feelings with a closely attentive crowd, Mr. Rich remarked,

"It is an honor to be a small part of God's Love's 20th anniversary. Its tireless and selfless work has long been an inspiration to me and so many New Yorkers."

Mikimoto America & Co., famous for its cultured pearls from the South Seas, once again donated a stunning pearl pendant as a raffle prize as well as a gift for each of the authors and all of the guests. Our great friends at M•A•C VIVA GLAM generously contributed complimentary cosmetics bags for everyone to take home. "Let's do lunch" was one great idea on April 17th - a truly memorable day, and the money raised will go a long way to help our clients who depend on God's Love for nutritious meals and caring visits.
