BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS; JACKIE FIERSTEIN; AND THE HONORABLE JERROLD NADLER RECEIVE HIGHEST AWARD OF GOD'S LOVE WE DELIVER

On October 29, 2007, Blaine Trump, John Bartlett, Mario Buatta, Paul Wilmot, Debby and Rocco Landesman, Sandra Lee, Tamara Tunie, and John Tartaglia, along with nearly 300 friends of God's Love We Deliver gathered at Gotham Hall for the 1st Annual Golden Heart Awards Celebration, a memorable evening of cocktails, dinner and entertainment, to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of three dedicated supporters of the agency.

The Golden Heart Award honors those members of the corporate and philanthropic communities who demonstrate extraordinary and exemplary philanthropy and ongoing civic responsibility. This award serves as a model of how the strengths and resources of the private and public sectors combine to support God's Love We Deliver in its critical work. Past recipients include M·A·C Cosmetics/M·A·C AIDS Fund, Prudential Douglas Elliman, and Altria Group, Inc.

For 2007, God's Love We Deliver presented three special Golden Heart Awards to:

  • Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the entertainment industry's leading fundraising and grantmaking organization for those affected by HIV/AIDS and other critical health issues, and
  • The Honorable Jerrold Nadler, for his lifetime achievements and civic commitment to the residents of New York City; and
  • Jackie Fierstein, Harvey's mother, and a dedicated God's Love volunteer.

Entertainment was provided by The Broadway Boys-Danny Calvert, Steve Morgan, Maurice Murphy, Jesse Nager, Michael James Scott, and Josh Strickland-a collection of the hottest male voices currently working on the New York stage. Both a live and silent auction were conducted by Benjamin Doller from Sotheby's, and auction items from the 2007 Holiday Catalog were showcased at the event.
