RACE TO DELIVER On November 18, 2007, nearly 6,500 God's Love We Deliver supporters participated in the 14th Annual Race to Deliver in Central Park. The race is a 4-mile run/walk that symbolizes our daily "race" to deliver meals to some 1,400 men, women and children affected by life-altering illness. The Race to Deliver is God's Love We Deliver's largest annual fundraiser, and generated over $500,000 for the agency this year alone. To date, over 65,000 caring New Yorkers have joined together to raise nearly $9 million to continue our mission of feeding friends and neighbors in need. Blaine Trump, long time member of God's Love's Board of Directors, was there to cheer on the runners, along with Nancy Mahon, Executive Director of the M·A·C AIDS Fund, Hilary Carol Cruz, Miss Teen USA 2007, and Hana Soukupova, model for Victoria's Secret. This year both Blaine Trump and Joan Rivers, also a member of the Board of Directors, have each formed personal Race teams, and participated in the Race. A Kids' Fun Run attracted more than 400 participants and their parents. Entertainment at the Race to Deliver provided excitement to an already charged day with music by DJ Karin Ward, cheers led by Cheer New York, and a humorously topical commentary on the Race by board member and comedienne Joan Rivers. WABC Channel 7 broadcasted weather updates live from the Race between 6 am and 10 am. Corporate
sponsors for the 14th Annual Race to Deliver included: M·A·C
AIDS Fund, Altria, Bloomberg, Pfizer, Logo, Time Warner Cable, Nike,
QVC, and Ford. Media partners include Metrosource, 1010WINS, HX Magazine,
The New York Blade, POZ Magazine, Gay City News, and TimeOut New York.
