Shopping Luncheon

On December 06, 2006, Blaine Trump, Serena Boardman, Tory Burch, Alexandra Kotur, and Pauline Pitt hosted the annual holiday shopping luncheon to benefit GLWD at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. The annual luncheon is in celebration of the catalog Gifts from the Heart which is produced each holiday season by the Development Department to raise money for the agencies services. Many of the products are donated by generous companies such as Burberry, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Slatkin and Co., and Coach. Other items are produced directly from GLWD's kitchen. Silent auction items and holiday card designs are donated by such design houses as Adria de Haume, William Ivey Long, Gucci, Mikimoto, Manolo Blahnik, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Leontine Linens and Ferragamo. Nearly 150 guests, including, Karen LeFrak, CeCe Cord, Carolina Herrera, Gigi Mortimer, as well as many other major society figures joined GLWD supporters John Demsey, Group President of the Estee Lauder Companies and Chairman of the M*A*C Aids Fund; Meyer Hoffman, CFO of Mikimoto, America; GLWD Board Members Sylvia Vogelman and Ann Jackson to shop the items beautifully displayed in the room. Karen Pearl, GLWD CEO and President, presented the 20th Anniversary Video that chronicles the agencies history over the past 20 years. The purse pens in the gift bags were provided by Mikimoto as was a raffle item, a Milano design pearl and black diamond pendant.
